The biggest single in country music period. 5 million sold in the states and even a cool million in Canada with one tenth the population of the U.S. This smash so so hot the music industry presses could not keep up with such high demand. Record stores were even out of product during part of its historic run. The first single ever to go #1 pop and country by a woman. To put it in perspective, Tammy’s ‘Stand By Your Man’ sold 800,000 copies the same year in 1968.

I love those white go-go boots! the “very cool” of the moment. I should know, I was alive then!

Don’t think for a moment that hypocrisy is limited to Republicans. Democrats are just as bad.

That is what hypocrites does for a living, they like to pass judgment to everybody and they hate it when someone have pass judgment back to them.

I am fortunate to live in Nashville. I have met Jeannie C. Riley a couple of times in the last couple of months. She is a nice lady. She has a lot of interesting stories to tell.

When this song was written there was a HARPATH VALLEY ELEMENTRY in western Nashville and a JIMMY KELLY’S bar and grill in BELLE MEADE (the rich section of Nashville)

To 387oldfart, you are thinking of Barbra Eden. I thought I was the only one to remember that movie. And what a great movie it was.
